It's like having a smaller nail, but not quite that big a hole, so you can put the smaller one in just under the edge, and it will stick to the board. And you'll also want to be careful not to cut the nails as long as you're just making good progress, making sure you've covered the inside of the board exactly, and not over-cut the edge.

There's a pretty strong theory that this may not work on all boards at a time I can remember (and it really does), but I've done it twice on my own boards.
