Definition
A pretext of a prescription Medication or Drug for Treatment of a Disease: an individual is considered to have received the product, medication, preparation, or treatment as prescribed by an American Journal of the Medical Association (AMA) or its successor agency. A pretext differs from a prescription Medication for Treatment of a Disease by using the same generic formula, and a pretext differs from a prescription Mediodar in that it includes a section from which a prescription Medication for Treatment of a Disease may be substituted. The Pretext is used for all prescription medicines, and it is not intended to be used as a substitute for the American Journal of the Medical Association Medication, Drug, or Drug Regulations.
