The mother of three is the second woman killed across the country in just two weeks.

One victim, 22-year-old Melissa McLean was fatally shot while walking home from a convenience store in Austin, Texas, with three young kids and another teen hospitalized.

She was found dead early the afternoon, with a bullet in her heart. Her friends were not injured in the tragedy, the Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday evening.

The woman's family identified McLean as the mother of three and said she was "very beautiful."

"She loved and cared for her family, and I think her actions will be greatly missed," McLean's mother, Lisa McGraw, told CNN's "State of the Union." "She was an amazing woman and I don't know how we could ever forgive her, but we've just got to let her go."

CNN reports that McLean's sister, Tanya McLean, confirmed on Twitter that she and her husband are mourning the loss.
