I've tried every DIY product I go to, but I haven't come up with a way of applying nail polish to the nails. Some of them are too thick on the inside. Others tend to take much longer to dry and require large amounts of work. I have always resisted using any of the new post-care formulas. So here is what I tried:

I put a tiny layer of my natural makeup mixture onto the inside of my nail pencil. I then placed the pencil in a small layer of makeup and mixed it with about 1/3 of the rest and used a nail polish brush. I put it over the inside of the nail pencil, and put with a tiny little amount of nail polish remover. I left the nail polish brush on the inside of my nail pencil, and I put a second pencil over the outside to apply that same nail polish. That was it, pretty rough treatment of nails.

One other method I used which is more difficult to find is to try to apply a gel or oil onto some of the nails, but you might not know how to do that. I've heard others tell you to use a dab at the edge of the nail pencil and keep it off the nail pencil, but I haven't tried that.
