My two cents though.

I don't want my nails to look anything like nail polish, so what's the point of adding an insecticide to a nail if the thing just will do its thing after me?

The only thing I would like to do is make sure the nails of my kids are coated with acrylic. Because I live in the Philippines, when I put out my plastic nails, they are not going to stay on for a long time. The only coating a sponge can leave is a mild acid that will only stick a few inches to the edges of my nails. A sponge has to be placed in every nail before it will dry and completely destroy the nail or it's not clear it's there. Make sure there isn't too much acid on the top of the nail, or your nails will become sticky and be difficult to clean.
