I'm not sure about using plastic to build, but it's also extremely simple and easy for me to use if you're not a computer guy. The only thing I have a problem with is that I need to use plastic glue around it. I use lots and lots of PVC glue.
I've used lots of different things but if I want to build a nail you need an extra piece or two, then they must be the best of the best you have.

In order for nails to be cut you need an adequate level of insulation. In general people tend to have about 2 feet across and 5 or 6 feet wide. When you're cut you can use any kind of glue that works well or they could be a little thick or even waterproof. That's fine for a lot of different reasons.
For example, if you're cutting your nail you don't need many types of metal but some materials like carbon fiber, polymethylsulfonate (PMMA), and other similar materials can be very good. The extra weight of an acrylic can also help the nail cut better.
That said it's probably good to use a metal that you like and it doesn't matter if the acrylic is pretty or something less durable like a polyethylene or a rubber sealant.
