Kathryn McDaniel, a photographer, and I have been working on a new exhibition called "The Way Out," about the effects of the AIDS crisis. We had a visit from the director of the exhibition, Barbara B. Ziegler, and she told me that one of the reasons that we started work on it is that we didn't know the size of the problem before. You hear about it because we've been in AIDS outreach work for the last 40 or 50 years! (laughs – laughter, applause) But when we went to look at this, I found that at the very bottom of this website, where you get the image for the most recent version, is some pretty interesting information and that says so and more!

And that's what we're trying to get at—

SUSAN SMITH: Yeah.

KATHRYN M CORPELLE: I think you could make an entirely different assessment of the way black people are dealing with the AIDS epidemic, actually.

SUSAN SMITH: Okay.

KATHRYN M CORPELLE: Is this all being done at your facility, or would you like to make it more available?

MARY RODAN: We wouldn't like to make it more available, but if you think this means people in the community are being harmed, we need to learn from that. We can't do
